Schools and Nurseries

Helping your school to support your parents

A few words about parent coaching for Schools & Nurseries

‘I provide ‘ready for school’ skills including academic, emotion, persistence and social skills coaching, how to use praise and reward systems, sibling rivalry and friendship skills. I help with routines and boundary setting, managing challenging and aggressive behaviour, managing anxiety, communication skills and parenting styles.

Additionally I support your school’s parents with problem solving, how to help children manage their emotions, sleep difficulties and understanding the transition to the teenage years.

Evaluations from parents during the last 5 years show that 100% found the sessions helpful, 97% of parents said it was likely that they would use the strategies discussed at home and 97% parents agreed that the strategies from the session would help their child’s learning.

The benefits of me offering sessions to support the school parents

The benefits for the school are:

  • Less time taken up dealing with parents concerns and anxieties

  • Children enjoying better sleep, better mental and emotional wellbeing and being able to manage their behavior better
  • Parents who are better able to help their child at home
  • Improved strategies for behavior management

What I can offer to schools by offering sessions for their staff

I provide sessions for staff working in schools and nurseries to promote better understanding of how to help children overcome emotional and behavioral difficulties. I am able to customize these sessions according to your school’s needs

"It has been a pleasure to work In partnership with Anne who has provided excellent parent workshops and training for teaching assistants. She has provided invaluable support, listening and responding to the needs of individuals. Sometimes, an independent, highly skilled, empathetic voice is just what parents want and need. We have been fortunate to have found this in Anne. She is flexible in her working approaches and works to understand and meet the specific needs of the school. I can’t recommend her highly enough!"

"Anne has undertaken parenting workshops on stand-alone subjects for up to 50 parents and run courses over eight sessions on different topics that address the direct needs of my parents. Feedback from parents has been extremely positive from "an excellent session" to "very helpful and reassuring session which didn't patronise in any way". Anne's approach is relaxed and non-threatening, encouraging participants to share their views, experiences and the challenges they face of being a parent and through discussion receiving a new perspective or approach. Highly recommended!"
